Life has a lot of demands on our time and efforts. We tend to over schedule ourselves and are hurriedly moving from one thing to the next. So what happens when you are upset, unhappy, or just in a bad mood? Sometimes you just feel like laying on the coach, eating junk food and watching TV all day... when this is not possible - Fake it!
I learned this from my wife. Sometimes when she is having one of those days, she tells me she is going to "fake it." What happens a lot of the time (and this is why I advocate faking it) is that you forget you are faking it and actually trick yourself into having a good time and being happy! ... and, no, this isn't just for your wife - we all have these days.
Be VERY cautious about faking being happy in your marriage. It can be done appropriately and it can produce positive results, but it is important that your wife knows how you are truly feeling. As long as you have open and honest communication about your feelings, faking being happy and upbeat once in while when you have one of those days can help avoid contention.
